Hiring a Photographer
or asking them to take photos at your event and products?
What you think you're paying for:
• Someone to take some pictures. What you are actually paying for:
• Some one to take some pictures.• Equipment purchase or rental and insurance cost.
• Studio / Office Space.
• Transportation expenses to and from the event.
• Promotion and website costs, including digital delivery service.
• Self employed income tax and social security
• Self employed health insurance.
• Telephone, Internet expenses.
• Computers and Digital Storage.
• Business Insurance
• Hours spent negotiating your contract, editing your photos, billing, accounting, and bill collection.
• Expertise in working in a variety of situations and still getting the photo every time.
• The payment also has to cover food, housing bills and all other living expenses.
Still thinking that offering "EXPOSURE" and "EXPERIENCE" is a fair price?
You wouldn't expect other business owners like plumbers, carpenters, hairdressers,
doctors, dentists, opticians, electricians, chefs, or mechanics to work for free, would you?
